UN sinks $$ into Haiti 'love boat'

The United Nations is spending more than $10 million to house some of its Haiti relief workers on a pair of chartered cruise ships -- one of which has been dubbed "the Love Boat" by UN staff.

And some of the funds are going to a company closely linked to the government of Venezuelan strongman Hugo Chavez, FOXNews.com reported yesterday.

  1. United Nations and Bill Clinton asked for 4 Billion for Haiti, if they are spending half of it in salaries and perks for the UN staffers than what would be left for Haiti ?

  2. I wonder how can a "UN staff" be more knowledgeble than a Haitian? Why should we over pay them - while with a month salary of a UN staff can actually live 10 Haitian families for an entire year?

  3. we should rather pay and send back home as full paid employees for 2 years Haitians that leave abroad. They can really understand their culture, and can bring real development to their own communities.
